Winter Wonderland

I spend much of January looking forward to meeting all my new clients – the couples planning their weddings in the year (or two) ahead.

To open the batting for 2018 I had my first wedding last weekend. So here are a few images from it.

Much more weddings to come this year!

So here’s a peek at what I’ve been up to these past weeks; as always no two events are ever the same, because no two couples ever are.

If you think the best has been and gone, you’re wrong, there really is SO much more to come this year. Oh and for the record next year, I really am slowing down…!

April Weddings

April weddings.

April was a beauty, full to brimming with gorgeousness, it’s farewell to the daffodils, blue bells, muscari and snowdrops for another year and hello to the plum, cherry and apple blossom, and a warm welcome the peony season.

Frankly it’s scandalous at how ridiculously pretty peonies really are so many of my brides are clamouring for them in their wedding bouquets. Coral Charm and Coral Sunset remain my firm favourites as they fade from deep coral pinks to palest parchment inside a week; a beautiful sight I never tire of watching unfold, that said the pure white, pink and blush varieties are classic staples for any bridal ensemble.

I am incorporating gorgeous tulips into many of my bouquets and arrangements as well as selling them in hand tied gift bouquets too. Bulb-on for a longer vase life, the bulb also makes a nice feature inside a clear vase big hitting blousy numbers to captivate the look of an arrangement; they surpass any requirement for a rose or other focal flower alongside them.

Mother’s Day Flowers

Mother’s Day Flowers

This year here in the UK we celebrated Mother’s Day on the 26th of March. When we get to say thanks to Mum for all the hard work and love she has given us growing up.

Sometimes it can be hard to find a suitable gift for Mum. Do you buy something for the home? A restaurant meal for mum? One of the timeless presents that been given as a gift to Mum for decades is a bouquet of flowers. The best way to show how much you care with a bunch of beautiful scented flowers: freesias or stocks. Spring flowers – tulips, hyacinths, roses,  or lilies will brighten up her day.

Here at Dawn’s Designer Flowers we have a special range of Mother’s day flowers. A great collection of wonderful fresh flowers that she is sure to cherish.

Our beautifully designed collection of Mother’s Day flowers encapsulates the latest florist trends and features only the highest quality blooms. From chic hand-tides to stylish arrangements, you can guarantee that mum will be delighted with her surprise flower delivery on Mother’s Day.

Each of our bouquets is expertly crafted by hand and delivered with your Mother’s Day wishes on a hand-written card.

Seven sleeps till Christmas!

As temperatures drop, the night draw in and we approach the colder, darker days of winter, you may wonder what inspiration can inspire us during these bleak months. There are however a great many elements to winter which simply need  the merest embellishment to tease out the natural beauty of the season.

The colours of winter fall into three categories -rich and warm, bright and vibrant, crisp and definite.

By adding lots of festive foliage, such as trails of ivy, spruces, eucalyptus or variegated holly to the flowers, one can create Christmas feel.
