Bichon Frize Dog Funeral Flower Tribute And Mummy-Contemporary Letters

We were recently asked to create a personal funeral tribute Bichon Frize Dog.

We started off by cutting oasis foam and making the shape of a dog. It was not so very easy, this breed is similar to the Poodle, so you have to be very careful what you are doing. Bichon Frize’s got much bigger head. We got the shape, sprayed it well with water and finished with chrysanthemums. The base finished with ivy leaves.

These Contemporary letters were made using Orchids, Freesia, lovely dusty pink roses and chrysanthemums, and finished with leather leaves and eucalyptus.

Birthday Party

We had so much fun decorating this private Birthday Party in Aldenham. The color scheme was red and gold, so we did choose ostrich feather and Grand Prix roses in tall martini vases. For coffee tables – lower arrangements with amazing Red Grand Prix roses and feathers.

And Here Is May!

The days are getting warmer. The garden is greening up. Bluebells are blooming. Daffodils, Tulips, Muscari and Ranunculus are being replaced with Sweet Peas, Peonies, Lily of the valley, Aquilegias, Roses and so much more besides. My wedding diary is closed for May – weddings, Corporate events, First Communion, Christening all these Events for the next few weeks. How wonderful to have so much work that I am having to turn it away, I never in a million years thought I could be so very busy. This weekend did flower arrangements for Margherita’s sons First Communion in Holly Cross Church.

Here Comes Spring!

For me April would simply not be April without daffodils.

Spring wedding gives people a rejuvenating and energetic feeling. Spring flowers are plentiful, pretty and relatively cheap, especially daffodils. Daffodils are everywhere in the spring, they are on the streets, in the park, in all the supermarkets.

Daffodils most commonly come in white and yellow, however it seems that the yellow version is a lot more popular and easy to find.  You can also use both yellow and white daffodils together in your wedding arrangements, alone or in combinations with other flowers.

Daffodils are in actual fact, floral happiness on a stalk, it’s like being infused with pure sunshine such is their effect – as I write this blog, and they are opening in buckets all over the workshop. I must have over a thousand of the little trumpets.

I’ve got an incredible combination of flowers to create what will be a sophisticated look – vibrant yet with combinations of cream and blue.

Yellow daffodils were the absolute favourite of one of my clients that I have created the table arrangements, they looked gorgeous combined with lovely blue Hydrangea, Avalanche Roses, Spray Roses and solidaster.

Some Autumn Wedding Ideas

This year still has a couple of months left to run and there are plenty of wedding flowers I’ve yet to arrange. But after receiving some thank you letters recently, from brides along with fabulous photos, I decided to share a few of these.

I love using colour; visually exciting, the vivid spectrum of possibilities can be mood enhancing. Many flowers and accompanying props can create a world of possibilities. This is Dawn’s Designer Flowers Company’s kaleidoscope for a rainy day…

Hello autumn, I’ve been expecting you!

September gently rolls into October with warm balmy sunshine, misty mornings and heavy dew at either end of the day. Temperatures continue to drop into November, frosts, wind and rain will eventually whip the last of the leaves – still hanging on to the trees for dear life and before you know it winter will be here.
